People on dating apps: So what are you looking for? Me: The exit. An OpEn rElAtIoNsHip is simple - one person fights for their right to have the “freedom” to have a few “friendships”, while one person constantly searches for the “higher love” partnership to transition out of this open ended question.  Standup comic: They say don’t quit your job until you’re hired at your next one. So i got divorced when my backup girlfriend said yes to my engagement proposal. *audience guffaw*. My previous partner revealed that their style of doing poly was, actually & ironically, a lifestyle designed around avoiding intimacy with people, and an intentional escape/rejection of pursuing/engaging in Loving Oneself. They had an aversion, a painfully sensible detestation, for the concept of monogamy, a fixed opinion which in my opinion stemmed out of one or a few broken heart endings from 40 years ago and the vow against ever returning to an effort for that kind of setup again. It’s multidimensiona...
The wind beneath our wings is the force of our subscribed beliefs. Some beliefs are fluid and flexible, and some are firm and nonnegotiable. We join people and places, ie colleges, companies, communities, aiming to achieve a purpose from our beliefs. Everybody has had more than one experience where their honest thought-process has gotten them into trouble. I have so many funny stories about how nutty things are with me being a Professional.  Once upon a time, i ended my soccer class 5 minutes too early. On purpose, because my mood was off from my damn dawg at home being annoying, the kids were laughing and running all over the place despite my effort to guide a kicking drill, and the icing on the cake was my manager/co-coach treating me rudely by bossing me around (nothin’ personal, merely the evils of corporate overlords power tripping).  Now, one of the number 1 rules of my Personal Professionalism is DO YOUR TIME. I swore i would always and i pretty much mean it, with the o...
There was a quote about music from a wikipedia page. Before i got on twitter, my favorite way to wormhole on the internet was to educate myself via the cultural discoveries in The Free Encyclopedia. My high school friends and i would play a game where we, on classroom desktops, would begin at the same page from searching a random topic on wiki. Example: everyone starts on the page for “Axl Rose”. From there, we would come up with a second topic, unrelated to the original one, and click upon the various links, leading us through many pages, until someone lands on the page for the second random topic. Example: from Axl Rose, first person to get to the page for “Mitochondria” wins.  When I fell in love with musical artists during this era, I always looked up their wikipedia pages. So I could build more of a personal connection to the characters and stories within the songs, increasing the value and enjoyment of my audio amusements… the songs which ultimately became philosophy teachers...
*hey it’s me, your friendly neighborhood memoirist.  Please understand essays are intended for an audience interested in my storytelling.  Themes are mature, honesty woven within each word, and should not conceived as anything other than an amusing personal anecdote, with no intention besides self-expression as means to feeling healthy.  im like an off-grid jeannette walls. Ty.* ~~~~ “After enlightenment, laundry.” - Buddhist proverb  Could pOlYaMorY be a straight white man, aged senior citizen, managing interchangeable associates he uses for money through sex? It had become a bad reality television show for me; an observant weirdo, guilty of being far too kind, and a hopeless romantic - not even in a poetic way, but more so a case of a disordered lost heart. Well, the opposite of trauma is factually triumph; & fortunately, i’m no cookie cutter character, thus, like so many of my Real Friends, we choose our identity out of victim and into victor.  The most l...
