Nature Poems
Forest-Bathing
emerald exposure
of the trees
refining me
woods walking
where i breathe
medicinal air
fresh and clear
immaculate, pure
on nobody’s ground
just the sound
played through
earbuds around
my body in action
i imagine
a step dance
in tune to my stroll
in here, i’m gone
from anything but
a peaceful strut
whenever nature
this good and grand
hosts me in green hands
bets are on about this:
afternoons of tangible bliss.
Shore-Aboard
down the jersey coast
i’ve found the most
fun to have
in summers prime
when waters warm
i swarm into
the crashing waves
my board upon
the evening haze
paddling out
to points of forming
tides to ride
i slide
on top
balanced, i prop
myself into
currents carrying
floating voyagers
from tidal highs
to sandy lines
i glide
smile wide
with waves rode
in mermaid mode:
a euphoric flow.
